How does it work???
It really couldn't be any easier! You send us your favorite photos and we do the rest! We switch color photos to black & white, reduce and crop them and permanently seal them into each piece.
Which photos work best???
The most important thing to look for when deciding which photos to use, is that you choose photos you LOVE. Many people think that photos taken by a professional photographer are better than those taken by an amateur. NOT TRUE!! Many of the photos shown on our website are taken by normal, everyday moms and dads. The best photos are sharp, focused and have nothing in the way of the precious face. TRY TO AVOID photos with hats and sunglasses, as these will detract from the simplicity of the piece. We can use ANY PHOTO, of ANY SIZE. Color photos will be converted to black & white.
How do I send my photos???
You can e-mail them to photos@tjandco.comphotos@tjandco.com – JPEG’s of a minimum 300dpi are preferred. PLEASE REFERENCE YOUR ORDER # in the subject line of the e-mail. If you only have hard copies, they can be sent by US mail in a photo safe mailer (see mailing address on contact page) and will be returned to you with your order. Please be sure to label your photos on the back with your name and phone number so we know who they belong to. PLEASE DO NOT send negatives or heirloom photos that cannot be reproduced, as we CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE.***PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR PHOTOS VIA AN ON-LINE ALBUM SUCH AS
SHUTTERFLY OR KODAK EASY SHARE, as we often have trouble accessing them.
What if I only want to use one face out of a group shot???
Not a problem- just let us know! A good way to do this is to make a photocopy of your picture and indicate in red marker who should be cropped out and who should remain.
How do you crop the photos???
Photos are typically cropped close around the face and hair, with the original background removed and replaced with a crisp, dark background. If you’d like the photo cropped differently, please let us know. Basic photo editing is included in the price of the jewelry. If extensive editing/retouching is needed, we will let you know. The cost for this is $25 per hour.
How long will it take to receive my jewelry???
Our production time for photo jewelry is typically 2-3 weeks (longer during peak holiday seasons) from the time we receive your photos & payment. Production time for non-photo items is approx 1.5 - 2 weeks. Most of the Zen Mama pieces are ready for immediate shipping. UPS ground shipping time is additional. If you need something sooner, please let us know (RUSH charge may apply). You will receive an e-mail with UPS tracking information as soon as your order ships.
How do I clean my jewelry???
Each piece is made by hand using the finest sterling silver. As with all sterling silver, pieces will tarnish, but can be easily cleaned using any standard silver polish or polishing cloth. The photos are protected by a water proof coating and will not be harmed by the polish.
Can I wear my jewelry in the shower or pool?
Yes! That’s the great part – you never have to worry about your jewelry getting ruined by water!
Do you provide gift wrapping???
Yes, each tj&co piece arrives in our signature box with pink ribbon, ready to give – even if it’s a gift for yourself! If you are shipping a tj&co piece directly to someone else, let us know and we’ll include a gift card at no extra charge.
What is your return policy???
Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of each piece, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges. Since each piece is made by hand, no two pieces will ever be alike or “perfect”. Slight irregularities in the shape and color of each piece should not be considered defects.
